What is a Quick Check?

A review by one of our physician advisors of the First Report of Injury, the Initial Examination record of the treating physician and/or another pertinent document (statement to employer, etc) at the onset of the filing of a claim. The purpose of this service is to provide medical advice with respect to the Mechanism of Injury and Diagnosis to determine if there is a medically probable causal relationship based upon the evidence submitted. This service can also be used to identify potential “other factors” and obtain advice on uncovering the clinical evidence necessary in support of apportionment.

Why would I need a Quick Check?

To help develop a proactive medical case strategy that will serve to drive the case to appropriate resolution. Quick Checks help our clients to:

- Determine if the Diagnosis is supported by the exam findings
- Determine if the Diagnosis could be a direct result of the alleged incident
- Determine the likelihood of other medical factors leading to apportionment, and
methodology to uncover them
- Investigate claims by helping them to present the right questions to the appropriate
parties (claimant, employer, treating doctor, etc.)
|
When do I order a Quick Check?

This service is utilized at the initial filing of a claim, when our client believes, based upon the evidence or lack thereof, that the diagnosis or the causal relationship of the diagnosis is in question, or there is uncertainty about the existence of apportionment factors.
